About TailCalc
Last updated:
TailCalc is a small, independent website with free online tools that work on any device, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
TailCalc publishes pet calculators for people who own dogs and cats: how much food a starting formula suggests, how a published vaccine series is usually spaced, how dog and cat ages compare with human years, and a due-date window for a pregnancy. Every tool in the menus has a page. A few boxes open with a labelled example you replace (kcal on a label, a raw-food percent, a puppy weight multiplier). Those examples are not published standards.
Health information
Every figure on TailCalc is general information only: a starting estimate from a named source, not veterinary advice, a prescription, a diagnosis or a feeding plan for your animal. Using the site does not create a vet-client relationship. The site does not calculate drug doses, toxin thresholds, or whether something is safe to eat. Vaccination pages show published guideline timing and say that your vet's protocol and local rabies law decide the real schedule. Ask your vet. If your pet is ill, injured, or not eating, or in an emergency, contact a vet. Nothing here replaces that visit.
Who runs this site
TailCalc is operated by Brytin Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14806911, registered office 5 Cleveland Place West, Bath, BA1 5DG).
How the tools are built and checked
- Calculators show their working. Each page writes out the formula, with a worked example that uses the same numbers the calculator shows when the page loads. Every constant has a source and a date, listed at the bottom of the page.
- Automated tests check the calculations every time the site is built.
